Why This Work Is Different
Structural Pain Relief
Pain is often the result of relationships between tissues being out of balance- not simply a problem localized to the place that hurts. Rather than simply soothing where it hurts, I work with those relationships using firm, patient pressure and your breath to bring awareness to these patterns, helping the body relax what it's been holding. The goal isn't to force a change, but to create the conditions for change that lasts.
Fascia connects and organizes the body. When it becomes restricted, tension can show up far from where it began. My work follows those connections, working beyond the surface to address the patterns that keep pulling you out of balance. The result is often a sense of space, ease, and more freedom in how you move. (This is the basis of Myofascial Release, per the Cleveland Clinic.)
Deep work doesn't have to mean aggressive work. By gently working with your breath and the body's response, I deliver the appropriate amount your system can handle; making it easy to receive, removing resistance, allowing me to gradually sink in deeply to layers that superficial touch simply can't reach.
Firm, slow, and specific work for chronic holding that lighter touch never reaches — deep, without the bracing that comes from forcing it.
Rather than treating every muscle as an isolated structure, I work with the connective tissue that links the whole body together. This helps address the bound, restricted layers that can contribute to persistent tension- so you can move, sit, and live with greater comfort.
The body is a system of relationships. When one area is restricted, another often compensates. Rather than chasing the sore spot, this works with the fascia in a sequence, allowing the core patterns to reveal themselves - holistically realigning how you're held together so the change endures.
Structural Integration works differently than a typical massage session. Rather than treating one area in isolation, it's traditionally offered as a series — the complete protocol is 10 sessions — that moves systematically through the whole body, freeing adhesions and creating space for the fascia to reorganize itself. Rather than chasing pain from place to place, this addresses the underlying structural pattern that's creating it. Each session builds on the last, which is why it's commonly done as a series rather than a one-off session. (Learn more from the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute.)
Regulates the qi of the Three Burners — San Jiao — improving the pathway of digestion so the process of transformation/transportation improves efficiency and produces qi more freely. DZA has a direct effect on digestive and autoimmune dis-ease; however, the work isn't limited to the gut alone: because everything in the body is connected, the effects of improved transformation/transportation ripple outward to touch every cell of a person.
In Chinese medicine, the Spleen and Stomach together are known as the "Root of Post-Heaven Qi" — the foundation all the other organs draw from for nourishment after birth. "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." A more efficient digestive process means every organ and system gets a better share of what it needs to function well.
These rates reflect over a decade spent developing a style that consistently provides effective results — not a rate set on theory alone. If cost is a barrier, reach out. I hold space each week for clients who need a different arrangement.
